i guess it comes down to... what stops the zombies better?
Cabelas is not a good place to defend against zombies, way to easy for them to get in

im with coop... too easy to get trapped, and remember i am legend, they can use the manikins as traps... there are many open spaces with semi decent elevation changes (holy hill, etc) to conceal and shoot from around there... although a quick stop with a large group to cabelas isnt a bad idea. also that gander mtn isnt too far if you have a car.

I'd say between the two, .223 would be my choice. I was a total .223 lover until I got turned onto the .204 Ruger caliber. Then I bought one, shot it, and I LOVE that caliber now to the point of having 2 of them. Granted the .223 is, and probably always will be, cheaper to come by ammo-wise but the ballistics comparisons between the two give the .204 a slight nod. About 10" less drop at 400 yds.
Either are going to be tack drivers but if you want something a little different, give the .204 a look.
.308 or 30-06 = win
.223 is a plinker

so i am pretty sure i am going .223. not only to save a couple bucks and be able to use that money for optics, but since it is my first gun of this kind, i think it would be smarter to start smaller and work my way up. thanks for all the info guys. will keep you posted as to what i pick up. i am really liking the look of the dmps panther little sass.
if anyone has anything that they want to sell or know of any good gun shows coming, let me know.
I have special .45 LC rounds for that lol
