Just put in a 20-30 amp toggle switch turn the fans on and off as you wish,You dont need the fans on constantly just keep an eye on the temp gauge. I had the same issue till i put in the toggle switch when starts getting up to 180-200 flip on the switch, and have the switch in the off position when starting no proplems and no big amp draw.

Thanx slow90z - I should've fixed my fan problems while I had everything apart, because it's not the first time the switch has acted up on me. Of course, it decides to not work at all now that I'm ready to get it back on the road....

I'm waiting for a new Perma-cool wiring kit to come in the mail that I ordered from Jeg's the other day - along with a couple other things. I hope its a more reliable setup than this JC Whitney POS I have now. It's ALWAYS something.

My goal is to quit pulling engines and trannys on this thing, because quite frankly - it's getting old. Just want to get what I have running right, so I can concentrate on the cosmetics. I already spent way more money on the mechanical stuff than I ever anticipated. But I'm sure I'm not alone...

But I'll get it together...I always do.

A good day today!! I thought I had a rod knock, and it turned out to be the dust cover on the bell housing the whole time!

Got that fixed, did a quick half*ss carb tune and hit the road for about a half an hour. It's a different car with the 9" posi, LCA's now!! I'm getting much more power to the ground. But it does feel a little different on tight turns for some reason.

My fan switch is still screwed up, because I got a defect switch from Jeg's that I have to return because it doesn't adjust any lower than 240 degress!

But it stayed at about 180 degrees while it was moving. I can tell my carb will need more tuning because every time I opened it up, my A/F meter went to full lean. I guess I'll step up the secondary jets a couple of numbers and see what that does...

But the engine seems to have even more power overall!! Just need to tune it better.
