Good guy, terrible pitcher. Hard to even feel sorry at all for him though considering what he got paid.
Just glad they finally made the move. This team needs to cut the dead (old) weight.

He's a great person from what I understand but that dosen't give you a mark in the win column.
Good luck to him.

If he was such a great guy, maybe he should have said "oh come on guys, 45 million? I don't think I'm worth that much anymore, you should save some of that cash for other players, and just give me 5/mil a year" :P

In all honesty if you made 45 million and did a shit job would you give back the money. i know I wouldnt. Brewers were dumb enough to pay him that much then its their own fault.
I'll poor out a lil liquor tonight for our lost homie. Don't let the door hit ya Soup!

I would like for Trevor to hit the 600 save mark and then call it quits. I wonder if this is what he is trying to do but now it is questionable that he will get the chance. I hope Trevor gets the 600 save but it isnt looking good for him right now.
I guess they called up Chris Smith who is doing good in the minors right now. It says on the brewers site that Macha is making some other changes but that will not be announced untill tomorrow.
Macha said on Saturday that there will be a meeting with big changes to be announced. I was wondering myself what they would be. I was hoping for for Suppan to get the axe, I guess I got my gift on day early.
Lets see what Tuesday brings.
I won't feel bad for him, he's making alot of money and obviously no one in their right mind will turn it down either. He's wasting a roster space and will surely get picked up at some point, but I'd be willing to bet he doesn't have much of a career left after 2010, if any.
When I heard about the pitching meeting, to me one of the first things I thought of was they will cut him. He was ok in relief at first, but his last few outings were very Suppan like, IIRC.

man it's not his fault we offered him a enormous contract. that offseason was a gold mine for pitchers. Zito signed his huge deal and a few others. bad timing, his struggles wouldn't be so obvious if it weren't for the contract. thanks for the effort, his first year was good.

It's not his fault for taking it, of course not. It's his fault for sucking balls the last two years . Zito's deal is the worst because its so long was alot more money, at least hes doing better...Meche was ok, better than Suppan in total and Lilly has been solid for the Cubs.
