Another really impressive 6! The v6 maro and stang are actually really damn impressive.
Wow, what an insult. I don't know about the new Camaro as I haven't studied one real close, but in the past GM's plastic has always looked like Kia's rejects. I've never seen such cheap looking plastic in a car. That was the big turn off for me on the GTO. The interior looked so nice in pictures, but when I actually sat in one and looked at the materials, I just rolled my eyes and got out. What really kills me is the fake aluminum looking plastic pieces that GM slaps all over their performance cars. Even the high-end Vette's are guilty of this. Now look at the Mustang interior. The aluminum you see on the dash is just that: aluminum. Instead of making the engine look good, GM covers them up with a big plastic cover, and charges you extra for a special painted one. The 5.0 has a plastic cover that makes one reminiscent of the original SHO Taurus intake plenum. I don't think it needs it, as IMO the engine looks cool without the plastic junk, but at least the engine compartment doesn't look like it was sourced from Mattel.

They ain't bad for the money. Sad thing is for as impressive as these engines are, they still don't compare to the best the wops and krauts have. The N/A 3.8L flat six in the 2011 Porsche 911 GT3RS makes 450hp and the 4.5L V8 in the new Ferrari 458 Italia makes 560 N/A hp. Of course those cars are like 6 times as expensive, so it's not really a fair comparison, but it does make you wish that they'd take the leash off of our engineers and really let 'em run...

Engine covers aside, the untrained eye cant barely distinguish the engine bay differences between this car, a camaro and a challenger. They all use the same airbox location and shape electronics placement etc etc etc. Same with the mid sections of the undercarriage. The only thing that might tell the mustang apart at first glance to a novice is the strut tower brace.
All bullshit aside, Props to the new mustang, the muscle cars are back on par with each other once again, 40 years later.

In terms of how they look, I'd agree. But I'm with Hitman, the materials and build quality in GM's over the past few years, short of the new La Crosse, I've driven are sad at best. Not to say Ford's is superb, but I'd definitely say its better. What's really sad is Cadillac, the interior materials (some of them) and options might be nice, but the build quality compared to a Euro lux is so far behind its not even funny.
Exterior styling wise I love the look of the new Camaro, but the Mustang has some sort of attraction to it. Isn't competition great?

I actually like the interiors on the 05-09 better than the 10 and up. I don't like how the air vents go from round on the outside 2, while the inside 2 ae square. It just doesn't flow well.
One thing I love about the new Maro's (that I have always loved), are the analog gauges on the center console, it's hot.
Props are due to the 2011 mustang again! Cant say much for the mopar that its in dead last again with an SRT8 this time???

Yeah? And with what money are they gonna do this? Chrysler is on extremely shaky ground right now and I can't see them spending whole bunch of cash that they can't really spare just to repop a design that doesn't move a lot of units and probably isn't terribly profitable. I'm a Mopar fan and I like the Challenger, but I'm having a hard time seeing much of a future for either one right now...
