Without getting too far into it, an average .308 round uses apx 43 grains of powder with 150 grain bullets. This is talking about 178 grains of powder with a 750 grain bullet. Neat, but I think I'll pass on it!
Hmm, is recoil energy calculated just by the amount of powder and the size of the bullet? I guess if it take into account the weight of the gun and any moving parts that would explain it being that low.

I don't know to tell you the honest truth. I'm just basically reading crap off of charts. www.chuckhawks.com seems to have some decent resources relating to ballistics, recoil, etc. That's usually where I go when I want to kill time and read up on stuff.
