Now that is some power guys !
Now that is some power guys !
This boat used to cross the english channel 3 times a week runnin drugs and it was just a blur on the radar of the British Coast Gaurd. The BCG did not a have boat that was fast enough the catch it so they brought in a special chopper to get it !
So what's the gas mileage on that thing...?
When they nabbed the boat it had 6600 lbs. of coke on board.....
Where's Tim Allen and his "more power" slogan now?
it's like a fast tug-boat! lol

A quick calculation...
Water weighs 8.3 lbs/gallon...gas weighs about 6-7 lbs/gallon depending on type). 4,000 gallons of gas would weight about 24,000 + lbs. Plus those motors probably weight about 300 lbs/each.
Now your looking at around 26,500 lbs without the boat...lol. Add the boat and 6,000 lbs of coke their lucky the thing even moves at all.
If that thing weighs around 36,000 lbs fully loaded at 10% slip percentage (it's like drivetrain loss) in a heavy v bottom...
top speed would be around 50 mph....lol.

The boat would have to weigh less than about 9,000 lbs. to even crack 100 mph.

Artical says it went 60 knots ( 70 MPH ) .....it's an inflatable boat so maybe it was not as heavy as most boats....????
Actually those boats are heavy as hell. Are EOD Dive boat was was a rigid hull inflateable like that and with 3- 275's on it it only hit 56mph on the GPS
Geeze. The British Coast Guard must suck...lol.
Cigar boats are a lot more then a blur on the radar too
