So I went to get the car out because it was nice this weekend, but realized an oil slick coming from underneath it. I discovered the drain plug was leaking. I put a new gasket on the drain plug (one of those metal ones with the rubber in the middle) and there was STILL a puddle on the cardboard I put down the next day. Normally I wouldn't care but I'm running 20-50 and it's cold out, so once it warms up I'm concerned the leak will speed up quite a bit. I think the threads in the bung on the pan are ok because the plug tightens, just doesnt seem to seal. Should I use a different gasket? Different drain plug? Any Ideas? Motor's an Olds 455 with aftermarket 8qt pan.
