    Rear Diff

Would the rear diff from a 3rd gen F-body bolt onto a 4th gen? The rear end I have is from a GTA and set up for disc brakes, coil spring and so on. Does anyone know if it will fit a 97 Camaro?

it will fit, but a 4th gen rear is 1" wider per side if i remember correctly so the rims would fit differently.

so if it's a 3rd gen rear going into a 4th gen, you need a 1" LESS backspacing

if it's a 4th gen going in a 3rd gen, you need 1" MORE backspacing

Alright thanks, its from 3rd gen, going 4th gen. Needed to know for the buyer. Selling that POSI in favor of a built up 9 inch for my next engine swap. Thanks again for the info and help.
