Any 1st gen gt probes i need a tranny

ANyone know about a 1st gen probe gt 5spd tranny laying around i just put mine in and the damn thing blew up after ten miles.guess 180k miles on it was to much .sux. damn probes there always so anal

i got an 89 probe gt tranny ......BUT its on my car now and the car has 99,000 miles on it and we beat on it!!!!! oh yeah and not one problem why does everyone have problems with the first gen trannys?

The shift selector falls off.

i put it in gear and it just grinds and i put it in 2nd and it dosent move and once inawhile i get it in reverse and i have to kick it out of reverse. live in waukesha.

Did it just get bad, or did it slowly happen? Mine just broke one day and it was my selector. I had problems with reverse and 3rd. Took it apart and the bolts fell out.

umm it was like grinding then it like would pop if i would turn then it got worse it wouldnt go into reverse just barley and it would clunk and then it would go into gear but just grind and then it got stuck in reverse and i had to kick it out of reverse and then i would put it in 1st and let the clutch out but nothing would happen.
