    Ls1

Question for all you LS1 boys out there. I've got a lead on an LS1 that needs rebuilding, spun a main bearing and would need a crank and rods. No idea what mileage, but I was planning on using the LS1 for my twin turbo project. However I need to know on the availability of cranks, rods, heads and other such aftermarket necessities. Also would that complete motor minus the rods, including the damaged crank be worth $500?

Send replies and PMs, need to know so I can hop on it.

block and crank for $500? i think it depends on if the bores are cracked at all or if anything is wrong with it.

you can stick with a stock crank for awhile and wold be plenty strong. if you want some extra strength, you have the eagle crank at like $1500 give or take, and then the lunati at like 2000+, then a couple others in the 2000+ range as well.

as for everything else, it's pretty much the same cost. pistons and rods cost the same as any other sbc part out there.

the aftermarket is there for LS1's. much more so than for the LT1's from what it seems.

i think if the block is good, and you are getting everything else in the motor(i.e. block, crank, heads, lifters, rockers, ALL engine covers, sensors, etc..) then it's worth it.

i have a '99 Z28 M6 PCM and wiring harness i will be selling as well that could help with your swap.

Thanks for the advice, I'll be buying it in like a month or so, all thats wrong is crank and rods, everything else should be fine from what I gather.

    for mine?

    $5000 for everything you'd need

Fully built forged internal engine, 382cid, fully built TH350 with ultrabell and SFI approved flexplate, $1300 converter from TCT made for nitrous hits, and all the little stuff.

definitely not a "normal" setup or even close to stock stuff
