My transmission finaly took a $hit.

Well with just over 176,000 miles on the odomiter about 100,000 of which I put on, the transmission is finaly toast. Since Ived owned it its done countless breakstands, towed trailers way over what it should, maintained 90+ mph for long stretches of time, offroading, stump pulling, hard downshifting, 15 passes at GLD.... pretty much everything that is hard on the tranny Ive done since Ive owned it. Well yesterday on the way home in rush hour traffic somewhere in the stop and go I lost Overdrive and then with in a mile or two I lost third. Made it home the last 3 or 4 miles crankin it out in 2nd. My truck sounds kinda like a nascar when its in second doing about 60 mph and turning 4000 rpms.

Im not really complaining, its been going for the last 10000 miles or so and I knew that with my driving habits that it was only a matter of time. Oh well, eventualy I will get it rebuilt, better and stronger so that it can handle the abuse. Maybe when the tranny isnt slipping so much I can turn better than a 16.78 at GLD, lol.

WOW!! My tranny went in the Silverado at about 90,000miles. Course rebuilding the engine and other mods didn't help a STOCK tranny.
