    Clutch issues w/ '01 SS

New to this board, heard about it from a guy at Advance Auto on Bluemound.

In Feb, my wife got an '01 SS. 65k on the clock. We've put another 3k since then. After doing fairly hard launches, the clutch won't disengage for about 30 seconds - only resistance is the return spring on the pedal. Is this something common, and what's the cure?

    Thanks

Check the hydraulics for leaks and make sure it is bled (i.e. no air in the system).

Gonna try changing the fluid first. Took a look when she got home today. It's black!

Yep that fluid was burning a little bit. Makes for a nice mushy pedal.

Slave or master took a shiza... common problem on these cars... regardless of upgraded 01+ hydraulics ended up going with a Mcleod adjustable master to get mine to shift.
