    My Dad's All Original 1984 Hurst/Olds Cutlass

Today was a really really really rare day. My Dad actually brought his all original 1984 Hurst/Olds out from storage. He bought the car brand new in 1984 and is one of few with the power sun roof. Thing is really slick, I guess its not that fast but it sounds really cool. First thing my Dad did when he got the car home was remove and save every part tag under the car. It is really cool how well documented he has this thing. Another cool thing about it is it has the W-27 rear end which is extremely hard to find. By the way as the title reads it only has 9 miles on it. Now for the pictures...

Very nice! I would like to get a 84' H.O.(or a 87' 442) someday, but I'd get one with a tad more miles so I wouldnt feel guilty about building it up . Maybe I'd even stick with an Olds motor for it .

Whats the W-27 rear end? Jamie? I am sure they all got the 3.73's but maybe its for posi?

The W-27 rearend was avail in 1970. The centersection was made of aluminum with steel axle tubes. They didn't make very many and they are $$$$$. You can also buy just the w-27 Diff cover which they reproduce .

I posted the link because the pic is pretty big.
Very nice car. It may have a W-27 cover but it didn't come with the whole W-27 rear from the factory.

I just got back at 3:30 this morning from the Norwalk Olds race. The H/O club was there too. Very cool.

Very nice car!!!! I'd be proud to own it, but I'd want to drive it. Having that car in my garage and telling me not to drive it would be like putting a bottle of booze in front of an alcoholic and saying don't drink it

Did your Dad pull the original tires and store them? Just curious why the BFG's with such low miles?

yeah, the rear-end is actually a W-27, He says he bought it back in 1974 to put in a 1970 442 Convertible that he had and took it back out when he sold that car. As for the tires, yes, the originals are off the car so they wouldnt dry rot, along with all the original hoses, wires, oil, and filters.

No you should get rid of it immediatly. But there are special disposal precautions, give it to me and I'll take care of it for you. That's what kind of nice guy I am

Now, does the car have 9 miles on it or does the title say 9 miles? Im a little unclear here.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to notice that... LOL
The DMV messed up when my DAD sent in the title to get collector plates. It actually has about 90,000 miles but has been meticulously doctumented and well kept. Lets just say I think my Dad loves this car more than me.

I Just entered these pictures of the Cutlass in Johnny Lightning's "Your Car is the Star" promotion. I'll let you guys know if they choose to make the car. I can't imagine they wouldn't since the last time they made a 1983 H/O and all they would have to do is flip the paint.
