    Wiring issue

Currently I own a 1984 Z28, and here is the problem, i pulled it out of storage and got i running, new starter and what not, drove it for two days, about a month ago i went to move it, it fired up, then killed, and then the car had no electrical power to anything at all, today i checked out the wiring and installed a new battery. Same story, no power anywhere. Positive and negative to battery are tight, cables to starter are tight, grounds are tight, very confused . Haven't looked much beyond that but if any of you F-body guys out there have had something like this or have tips please tell me. The car is a carbed motor, minimal electonics, no options are in use electronically. If you have any suggestion please post them I'm gonna finish it up today hopefully before a grad party to show up in my baby. Please help =D

When you say they is no electric power to anything you mean that the gauges dont even light up when you turn the key to On?

Yeah nothing gets any power, not even that annoying little security light, dome light nothing. But when i slap on the multimeter it indicated there was a draw on the battery from something, it tested 10.2, 10 minutes later it was 9.7

Hmmm... The only thing I can think of is that you might have blow a Fusibal Link off of the main ignition wires. Not to mention that you said that you have some minor ignition work done on it too that may be playing a factor in that too, which may account for the draw on the battery as well... The Fusibal Links (if you dont know what they are) are the little white tubes about an inch and a half long on your larger gauge red power wires.

that would really suck...i'll look into it a bit more, i'll check all the wiring first, then i'll see how much an ignition switch would cost me

Wiring issue has been solved...verdict was, bad ground cable, jacket was worn through, hidden by electrical tape that finally fell off and exposed a good chunk of rotten corroded wire, so the new $4 wal-mart ground cable is in and it runs, now it needs exhaust and valves adjusted
