    First Milwaukee Auto X 4/24

Went out to the first autocross event at Milller Park yesterday. Although it was damn cold outside, there was still a lot of people, and of coarse, enough nice cars. Besides the weather, it was worth hearing a few nice f-bodies and vettes. Enough nice imports out there too.

I had some trouble getting used to the course in the morning, but jumped over a couple decent drivers in the afternoon. My first "fun run" after the event was over was a completely clean 57.0, and would have netted me 2nd place if I had done it one run earlier!
THEN I find out yesterday that my boost problem persists and that my car is STILL slower than stock! My friend Jared's bone-stock yellow '03 walked away from me on the freeway twice, once from 4th gear and again from 5th when we were testing my car out, AND he gave me the punch! It's going straight in for service Monday
Oh well, still walked away with a trophy for 3rd in Front wheel-drive street tire. Looks like Ben Zabel and his old red H-stock Prelude are gonna be owning this class this year. I hope he decides to go try STS or something. Then again, who wouldn't want a run away season sweep in a class?:

P.S. For those interested, the next autoX at Miller Park will be a Milwaukee Region SCCA event Sunday May 15th.

I really like the $60,000 BMW M3 Competition Coupe. In fact, it's even as fast on a racetrack as my stock "Neon".
