Just the absolute crappiest ATF dexron III you can find, like absolute swill like fleet farm "farm rated" is my personal choice, i had the best luck with the crappy oil.
No synthetics of any kind in that tranny and nothing but DexronIII

I Race My car 10 times a year,
and i just use the cheapest oil & ATF & gear lube i can find
from farm fleet
and keep it changed.

Dont run the tranny at all with it in there!!, the friction on the blocker ring synchros is so diff compared to conventional. If you search on LS1tech about that in the manual tranny section youll hear about some bad stories when using sythetics in a T56...
