The return of "SMS 1" ?

Hey there everyone... looks like a lot of new faces since I was last active on the boards in 2008 but I see there are still some very memorable people lurking around from those days.

I kind of lost the car scene for a while after I blew the transmission in my '94 GTP and sold it to BCM member easytoremember in November 08. I was forced into a meager existance driving a Lumina LTZ with better access for car seats and such as the kids were being born and family life took over. Even the Z28 went on the back burner entirely.

In January I scored a massive deal on an 03 L67 Bonneville SSEi to replace the decrepid LTZ. I'm starting to catch the bug again like I had when my GTP was around. I found myself spending the last 3 days in a row cleaning, tinkering, and remembering Oscars on Friday/Saturday nights "back in the day".

So I thought I'd pop on over to BCM to see if my account was even still active. Yup, guess so. I even found an unread PM from almost 7 years ago that I finally responded to LOL!

So I guess I may be back again here on the BCM forums. Time will tell I suppose since I can't tell if this place is jumping with activity like it was when I was on here daily or not right now.

Yooformula, BAD LS1, PrinceValiant, Yellowagon, BOSS LX, easytoremember, and many others I can't think of off the top of my head tight now it'd be nice to talk again if you're still around.

I'm starting to realize that the more I look around. I see you're still here though LOL

It seems that "most" auto related forums like this are going belly up these days. I noticed BCSM doesn't even seem to exist anymore. WICGP was left to rot years ago and even some of the national forums I used to be active on are ghost towns of their former selves.

I understand some of the Pontiac specific ones grinding to a halt but it seems weird that all the others are on life support as well. Bummer

Facebook groups have driven the traffic way down on a lot of forums. It seems to pander to peoples' laziness better as its much more difficult to search... people just want answers spoon fed to them.

Yeah that's what I've been starting to think too. Guess I'm just old fashioned.

I also noticed that BCM doesn't seem to have an FB group though.

It's a side-effect of people getting older. Most of the people are of a certain age. Then they have kids. Plus the economy bubble burst much later in Wisconsin so things for working folks are just now starting to get better.
Buy made in the United States. Otherwise your job might be next. Unless you already wear black shoes and a visor with golden arches on it to work in which case your fellow american has already failed you.

Wow how you doing Jason? Still have and use that tripod I bought from you years ago

Since it looks like BCM doesn't have an FB group does anyone else know of any decent local groups? Does anyone still gather anywhere on Friday or Saturday nights? Or is it just mobs of import guys trying to race each other and get into fights?

Oh how I miss the late 80's when Tower was safe enough to be a family event or late 90's before highway 100 became a total cesspool.

None you'd probably want to associate yourself with.

Yeah I'm finding that out. And starting your own rarely works well these days.
