    .380 carry ammo?

Been wanting to carry more often and i finally found a holster that might for better for me so now comes to the ammo part. I'll be carrying my walther pk380 which i've been taking to fletchers and getting pretty decent with. Obviously target rounds are not what i want to be carrying. Whats out there that you guys have used that will work well in the gun and be accurate at a little bit of range.

My Sig P238 likes Remington Golden Sabers the best but shots Federal Hydra-Shok's just fine.

Not too familiar with the PK380 but I know that the PPK/s is very touchy with HP ammo. The nose of the bullet has to be as round as possible or it won't feed correctly. My friends is fairly new so we are still trying to find something reliable in hers. If the PK380 has a similar design it might have the same issue (the P238 barrel tilts up when the slide is back so the feed angle seems better).

Ive shot Remington umc thru the gun which have sort of a flat nose to the bullet and it seems to cycle fine. Ive only shot one box of these tho as I usually use winchester white box rounds and they are round as round can be and have had no problems at all with those.

I've never fired the 380s, but I'm a big fan of the Hydra-Shoks. Worth a look if you ask me.

I ended up ordering a box of hornady and a box of barnes tac-xpd I'd like to see the G2 ammo personally i think it would be cool at least to have if it shoots right. If i find the federal stuff locally i'll probably pick up a box as well. Figured i'll only be able to tell if it works if i try it.

That gimmicky ammo seems to me like an ineffective facebook sensation. Looking at what it does in ballistics gel I feel that one of those shards going off sideways and landing in a bystandarder is a legitimate concern, not to mention the over-penetration potential of the central chunk. I can say with confidence I will never use it, even if it wasn't going for positively absurd prices

I agree for the most part. Seems a lot like a gimmick boutique ammo that is no more effective then a normal high quality hp. To me a 90 ish gran bullet in a 9mm is a bit light. And the "holesaw" thing when it won't have 2 revolutions in a target? Thats a bit much. Just another company trying to sell a super duper magic bullet to separate people from their money.

I run Winchester Ranger bonded 180 in my personal .40 and Ranger Sxt 147grn in my 9's I may changed to 124's in a Ranger or HST next time I buy carry ammo for it.
