    5-6 quarts free oil

I have some Mobil Delvac 1300 15w40 oil I use for my duramax. This oil is new, however I don't have a need for it and am going to switch oil weight. Anyone want this? It's just sitting on my shelf. There is a brand new unopened gallon jug, and an open half used gallon jug. Probably worth $15-20. Give me a pack of high life for it?

You should be using a diesel rated oil in any vehical that runs a flat tapped cam shaft. Most of the 15w40 and 5w40 diesel oil that have a CJ4 rating still have enough additives for these flat tappet and diesel applications.

Too bad it's not JASO-MA rated because I wouldve taken it and used it in my Arctic Cat ATV. I usually run Shell Rotella T 15w40 in her now and it's really good oil for wet clutch machines and its a better shock load oil perfect for engines that get beat up a lot.

You're saying delvac isn't "diesel rated" oil?

Thanks for the tip. But your tip isn't helpful for me to get rid of this oil I have.

I had to double read it as well he was stating you should run the diesel oil on other vehicles with flat tappet cams. Like old school muscle cars it has added zinc that is good for the cams and lifters

I though I had explained it simple enough that any diesel oil with a CJ-4 rating can and should be used in any vehical with a flat tappet cam. Yes Mobil Delvac 1300 is a diesel oil.

I do not own a flat tappet cam'd vehicle, but I'll keep it in mind.

Meanwhile, my oil is still sitting on my shelf. Might as well use it in an oil burning heater at this point. Didn't think it would be hard to give free shit away

If you didn't live so far away I would get it and use it for break in oil on a new motor.

I live in Manitowoc. Give the oil away as a present to some club or salvation army or some service club.
