    New to me

Well I totalled my Vibe a couple weeks ago.
Finally found a decent used Subaru for a decent price.
    2001 Forester S, 5-Speed, 116k. Super clean.

Old Vibe with "front end mod"

First on the list is window tint.
After that it needs to get lowered and some wheels.

I'm also looking for a Forester with the 2.5 that has 100k miles. I've heard that the timing belt should be replaced around that time, how are the motors other then that issue? How long will they last?

    Re: New to me

If you do regular oil changes, timing belts at 100kish and head gaskets at 80ish they will run forever.

Pffft I wouldn't even worry about the head gaskets. Those motors are really reliable

You can use 04 STI struts and springs if you wanted a sportier feel. I think you would need spacers for the rear mounts.

Although they are reliable the 2.5 dohc and sohc engines do have headgaskets issues. The phase 1 dohc you will have to replace the gaskets but the sohc Subaru makes a coolant additive that will stop the external coolant leak that the phase 2 sohc have.

If anyone has a Yakima Load Warrior Basket or Thule MOAB Basket they are looking to get rid of let me know. Looking for one.
