    Metal Roofing

Anybody go with a metal roof for their home? I have a pretty simple roof and interested in going that way when it comes time to replace it within the next year or so. Just looking for opinions and possibly references to get some quotes.

We put on on my Grandparents roof 15 years ago in Eagle River. Best decision ever. Still looks brand new. All the people that come up to visit comment on it wondering where they got it not knowing its been on there quite a while now. Not noisy at all inside, have to be careful in the winter if you don't have snow breaks on your roof. We didn't put any on because we didn't like how it looked and didn't want any un-necessary holes in the roof. So when it snows you have to be careful the snow doesn't slide off on top of you. It's never happened to any of us, but it does slide off in a hurry.

It's the only way I would go for a new roof.

Some neighbors stopped over today and are interested in getting metal roofing as well. I'll start getting some quotes and see if a contractor wants to do a neighborhood deal.

I've always really liked how they look and how well they hold up and look after years and years.

There's supposedly a new style of metal roof that has backside insulation or something, assuming its foam, that kinda deadens the sound of the rain. No doubt more spendy than the rest tho.

I'd consider it if i had to do a tear off, but this next time for me is just a second layer so just gonna shingle it.

It's way too noisy but if your considering it then i'd suggest Interlock metal Roofings..My cousins have ordered it..
