    Lets talk wheel guns.

I'm looking to get a .357 stubby. I had, and am leaning, towards a Taurus seven shot in stainless. Wouldn't mind another. Anyone have any leads or other suggestions?

Ruger SP-101 (or GP100 if you would go a little bigger). Great prices, built like tanks (in America), lifetime no questions asked warrenty, but you won't need it. Although Taurus has made leaps and bounds in recent years, the stink of buying used up tooling from Smith and Wesson and making cheap copies of their guns is still what I think of when I hear "Taurus". They do have a lifetime warrenty as well, but are made in Brazil if memory serves me correct.

Smith still makes great wheel guns, but be prepared for sticker shock.

I shot that Ruger and two Taurus' back to back when I had considered getting a wheelie. One Taurus was the .357, the other the .454 Casul (spelling?)

The Ruger felt cheap, despite being more expensive. The wheel itself felt like it had too much play on its axis, and the position of the trigger guard and trigger didn't feel right with there the grip had my hand. It also managed to spray about twice the gsr onto my hand as either Taurus.

The .357 Taurus was almost too "Stiff, but I guess if you shoot revolvers a lot you might consider it "crisp". Kick was about the same as the .357 Ruger, but the Ruger managed it better when you stepped down to 38sp.

The 454 was a beast, sure it was heavier and not really snub nosed, but the ported barrel managed the recoil of that big old round, and it felt no bigger than a good brand name .357 load. Its more of a dull thud like a .45acp than the snap that the 357 gives. Probably not practical, between the weight and the oddball round, but it was probably the best penis-enhancing revolver.

If round capacity isn't your primary concern, I would go with a Ruger LCR. It has the smoothest out-of-the-box D/A trigger pull of ANY revolver I've ever cycled and that includes a Colt Custom Shop Python and my Performance Shop S&W. Plus it uses some polymer in its construction so it's VERY light.

Been doing some looking. Think I'm gonna sock some money away for a Taurus 617 in titanium. Because I'm retarded and I like weird shit. They don't make them anymore so I'm gonna have to wait to find one anyhow. Light weight, be able to keep the hole under the hammer empty and still have six. Plus the blue titanium is the sex!

I have a Taruas CIA 650 with Blue finish. I bought it for my summer time carry gun. I am still getting use to the double action only trigger. Only downside for me is it doesn't have night sights which for me I kind of prefer my carry gun to have night sights. I been kicking around the idea of if I want to keep it or see if I can find something else. For the most part I like it but the night sights are huge for me.

I like sigs, but the high buy in keeps me away. My buddy has offered up used service guns but always when I'm broke. Id like to get one from him one day. He can get me free ammo too, nut only in .357 dig.

I have a ruger sp101 357...I carry 180 gr hollow points. I can shoot those one handed and keep a 1" group.. the weight of it really makes it super accurate for a snubby. This is pretty much my exact setup. In my crossbreed holster i don't even notice it. cb2lk8.jpg

If you like wierd shit, I have been intrigued by those new Rhino guns, but thus far sticker shock has prevented me from buying one. Anyone ever own or shoot one of those?

I just googled them rhino guns. Fucking weird, even by my standards. Although I find the lack of recoil intriguing.

I hate everything about shooting rhino's. I have shot two and didn't like them at all. Would never buy one.

I'd go with a Smith, if you go with a Taurus be prepared for low-no resale value.
I've also heard Taurus customer service blows, even with the lifetime warranty.

Why would you do that? This isn't 1873 anymore, you can load all the chambers.

why would you keep the hole under the hammer empty, when you pull the trigger the next hole in line would have the shell.if youre looking to be safe the hole under the hammer has a bullet, then the next in line has none.
but like rocket power said, why do that anyway

Really, cuz I've never seen free guns on armslist. The resale value on too many guns is artificially high....people were told guns didn't depreciate...and they believed it. a 3 year old xd shouldn't go for $20 less than a new one, but it doesn't stop people from asking it.

Taurus's customer service isn't bad, although I will say that they have issues getting legacy parts sometimes, especially if the weapon wasn't as commercially successful. Beyond that, for a "lower cost" brand, you can get just as many aftermarket pieces for Taurus as almost any other gun, and way more than any other lower cost gun.

Who cares about resale value? I'm not looking for a one use type appliance, I'm looking to make a long term purchase. Hearing about something and experiencing it are different things. I heard from a friend about all the shitty customer service my buddy got when he bought his Smith and wesson, that's not gonna make me sell the one I have or not buy another.

Too each their own. I had two taurus' both milenium pro's, they worked fine for what they were.

Maybe you don't ,but I care about resale value, if I decide I don't like something, or want to upgrade, I'd like to be able to get a decent percentage of my money back out of it.

Search around and compare the amount of people you see complain about Smith's, Glock's, Ruger etc. guns and their service, vs the amount that complain about their Taurus breaking and the poor customer service and long wait times.
