    Balljoint removal

How the F do you get the steering knuckle off the balljoint stud? Im afraid I'm going to bend the stud pressing it out whith the knuckle still on, and I cant keep the stud straight unless I remove the knuckle. I tried beating it with a hammer, but no luck there

Does the knuckle need to come off first or should I just press the balljoint out with the knuckle still attached to the stud.

You need a bigger hammer or a pickle fork.... Hit the knuckle right where the ball joint stud goes through it with a big ass hammer hard. If you can seem to get it buy a pickle fork, its made for that job directly.

I ended up just keeping the stock balljoints in there. I needed to get my car back together tonight so I can get to work in the morning. I'll just take it in and have a shop replace them. I dont have the tools (or the patience) to do shit like that.

Rent a balljoint fork from advance auto. Free rental, $30 if you want to keep it. Pops right out.

If you hit the spindle hard enough with your purse they come apart.
