    plumbing question

Quick question here. For the last few months we have been having issues of a nasty smell coming from the sink drains when we are running the water. I have run a snake through it a few times, probably dumbed a few gallons worth of draino and liquid plumber down them and the smell still comes back. Its only coming from the bathroom sinks too and not from any of the showers in the bathrooms. Any suggestions to try and take care of the smells?

Check the vent stack Could be a birds nest in it.

Or the Main trap could be dry and or cracked....

A trap is there to hold water 24/7 so the bad smell doesn't rise on up....

I agree on the stack. Go up on the roof and shove a snake down there and then put a hose a little ways down and let some water flow. Just make sure when you are doing this that nothing is coming back up into your sinks or toilets and flooding.

I have the same problem and next week I'm going to do the same thing.

pull the traps apart and make sure they're all clean. replacing them isn't a bad idea just because (and they're cheap) and as Dan said, check the vent to make sure its not plugged with something mother nature provided.
