Today I removed the front suspension, tomorrow rebuilding the Diff and Sunday removing the rear suspension. Next week sand blasting the diff cover and front spindles and having them powder coated.

The engine bay looks pretty good, little rust here and there. I started to bag up all the wires and anything that I don't want to get primer and paint on. Going to paint the bay the stock Alpine Green.

This past weekend I took a visit to see 94 Thunderbird XX (Kim) so he could help me build the differential. Can't thank him enough for taking the time to help me, goes to show there are great people out there. Thanks again Kim! :zbeer:

While I was there he welded up a RDCB for me, very cool. Today I had the spindles, brace and cover sand blasted and dropped off for powder coating. Should be ready tomorrow.

    Parts back from powdercoat.

    Not the best update:

Long story short I had to go with another engine builder. Really don't want to go into it, but I picked up my engine parts and was refunded my deposit yesterday. Sucks...

Along with that I was in a front end collision with another car. Not my fault. I was able to collect over $2000 in insurance money and only spend around $400 from the parts yard and craigslist. Came out around $1600 in my pocket. So I guess that's some good news. Still need a new hood and the front frame is a little off.

So after a couple of setbacks I'm still in motivated to get this project done.

Picking up my new VFN hood next week, ADDCO rear sway bar and Preston's coated and ported manifolds came in the mail. And too much parts to list and take pictures of.

    Slowly but surely...

I took a visit to the Chicago area to pick up my VFN hood.

Some progress has been made, go figure…

To start, I got my transmission back as well as my DynoTech driveshaft.

The front and rear suspension is bolted in, just have to torque everything to spec. New bushings and bearings to name a few. Painted the engine bay. In the out view picture you can't really tell, but the close up shots you can see the Alpine Green come out with some light on the surface. Going to clear it tomorrow. Everything is coming together nicely.
    Thanks for looking.

You are very thorough. And everything is looking good.

After you get the engine back what's left?

    Thanks guys!

Need to buy a torque converter and some odds and ends. But after that it's all downhill from there and putting everything back together.

Nope just the stock stub from the 04 Stang trans, should be good enough if my power is below 500. Anything higher I would upgrade to a better piece. Should be fine.

Just got my Corbeau Sport seats in yesterday with the brackets. The seat brackets are not a good fit at all. I had to modify it to make it fit. One, the seat belt tab needs to be cut off because it's in the way of the center console floor. Two, you'll need to grind out the bracket to floor holes so that the bolts can fit through.

Overall I love the seats, they're nice and firm on the lower back. The color is almost a match with the medium graphite grey. The only thing is, the seats are a little low. Nothing serious, but that can be fixed. The shipping weight with box was 68 pounds. Minus the box and packaging, looking at 50ish weight savings over the old seats.

Circle-D TC was finished yesterday and shipped out today. Should see it Saturday or Monday…FAST!

This is a head rest from the stock color medium graphite with the Corbeau seat, very close match.

The seats look good in there; Looks really OEMish, which I like.

Nice seats, less weight hard to argue with that. 50 pounds is quite a bit. Out of curiosity whats the estimated curb weight when you are all done?

  20. #40
That's what I was going for, closest thing that looks OEM. Stock from Ford back in 1996 should be 3800-3900 lbs. I'll have a aluminum teksid block (stock iron), fiberglass hood, lighter seats, Mark VIII rear control arms, etc, etc, etc. If I were to make a guess 34-3500 lbs?
