    I'm looking for suggestions for..

What's a good home protection/occasional gun range hand gun for under $1000? I am looking for something fun to shoot, .40 cal-ish. Something in a stainless look with wood style grip. Anyone have anything like this for sale or know a good place to look? Any suggestions are welcome and thanks in advance.

The new Taurus 24/7 G2 got a stellar review in guns magazine, was thinking of picking one up for myself. They're on cheaperthandirt.com for $369 in 9mm, 40 S&W, and .45ACP

If you get an M&P, go to Streichers. 9 or 40 with 3 mags for $398 or $455 with night sights. .45's are a little more if I remember right.

They refused to sell me a gun because I wasn't law enforcement, has that changed?

Jared just be a man and get a 1911 in .45 ACP. If you want the hi-cap Para 1911's they can be had for about $1000 on the dot, but a good 1911 can be had for $550-$750 depending on maker

Beretta 96 Inox would fit what you are looking for (stainless, 40 cal), and you would have enough left over to get a pair of custom high grade wood grips for it that would look stunning.

Regarding the Beretta.. Good lord that's a beautiful gun. Andy, I do love the 1911 style, that's mainly what I have been finding that I like, and they're priced right, so that's more than likely what I'll end up with. Do all gun sales have to be done in person, or can you actually order something on-line and have it shipped to you? I've never done this before but I would be shocked if you could have a gun shipped.. lol

You have to ship an online purchased fun to an ffl dealer where you then do the background check. Easier to find a local place to buy from that price matches
