    Another build. 223 Wylde Mock Dissipator upper

    Building this for a friend who's getting into 3 gun. Will post pics as parts start showing up!!

    wylde is the hybrid .223/5.56 "best of both worlds" chambering, right?

    I'd love for someone who actually understands it to explain that whole thing.

    I wish I could say I understood it! I don't know enough about it to give you specifics, my understanding is that the chamber is a little tighter than a 5.56 chamber, allowing for better 5.56 accuracy and better performance of 223 than 223 in a 5.56 chamber.

    If you were going to strictly shoot 223, I'd still go with a 223 chamber. This one was selected because the person who requested the upper wants to shoot 5.56, buts wants the improved accuracy for shooting 3 gun.

    Finally, got parts in. Waiting for a couple final pieces to arrive. Assembly will happen this week.

    did you stick with the DPMS forend? whats your review on that?

    I did use it. I'm impressed with how solid it feels. However, It doesn't seem practical for use. Once it's on the barrel can't be removed without destroying the hand guard. Which could pose a real problem with this setup since the gas block and tube are hidden under it.
