The Escort uses GPS to notify you of Red Light Cameras. It also gives arrows with the warning and distance to target so you know which intersection it is.
The Escort also allows you to mark speed trap locations on your own with the push of one button. So that way next time you pass a spot you've found a cop before, it will warn you "warning speed trap ahead" and then "you reached your marked location."
The Valentine is super sensitive to X band which causes a lot of false alarms.
The Escort is also easier to upgrade. the Valentine has to be mailed away, the Escort can be connected to your computer.
I'm sure I'm missing more but that's what sold me.

I have one too. They are the best. Very few false alarms. I was tired of hearing a detector go off all the time... when the passport goes off, you slow down. lol.
