What started as a front door replacement...

Turned into a pretty big project! Next step is to insulate and rock the interior. But it's looking great so far!!

No housewrap? And how big/small is that door, it looks tiny.

Not necessary at this point. I don't remember exactly. I think the opening was 32".

House wrap? There's R40 board there. As long as you tape your seams, you're good to go.

Some people over kill it on the vapor barriers. Water is going to get in, it always finds a way, and if you don't give it a way to get out you get mold. I'll be insulating with kraft backed insulation, which will be a fine vapor barrier.

I don't believe in house wrap unless you have a bunch of lazy contractors that can't get an exterior finished within a week or you don't use sheathing. And then only do I trust Tyvek and not its wannabe competitors. I do believe in no gaps. One too many times of seeing mold on the wrong side of the wrap.
Buy made in the United States. Otherwise your job might be next. Unless you already wear black shoes and a visor with golden arches on it to work in which case your fellow american has already failed you.
