my car will not pass emission test because check engine light will not go on. Any ideas. Thank you.Bill

it wont pass becuase the cel wont go on?? i always thought it was the opposite, but anyways..try unhooking your battery and turn over the ignition a few times to drain all the power and it should reset your ecm.But do this 2 minuets befor the test so that you go into the test with a clean ecu befor it has time to dect any failure codes.Or you can just always register you car into a northern county that doesnt require testing, just tell them you have ur car parked at say a finaces apt. there the majority of the time, problem fixed..Good luck

If its IM related it wont pass even if you clear it until it completes 3 or 5 complete drive cycles with out the same failure.
