recomend an exhaust for my truck.

Not sure if i just want to swap out the muffler or do dual exhaust... Either way I want it to sound nice but not over the top loud(I have my car for that) my cousin told me to cut off the muffler and replace it with a straight pipe. Lol
    Any idea's or recomendations?
Truck is a 2010 silverado z71 crew cab with the 5.3l

Does it have the 4cyl mode? If it does, some exhausts will drone inside the cab while its running in 4cyl mode even tho its not that loud outside.

    full catback or just muffler?

i don't have 1k for a cat back exhaust... i think for now i will just swap out the muffler and keep the rest stock... that is unless i can sell the sled soon...

Catback. I bought the muffler and then didn't get the stainless pipes. All together it was $500 something I believe installed with stainless tips also. Exhaust fell apart after like 3 years due to the non stainless pipes rusting through kind of by the muffler. This was also a 1 in 2 out muffler with 2 pipes out the back.

As long as you don't get rear exit, get a side exit like the factory is. It sucks when you load your truck and then your pants smell like exhaust. I would get MBRP or Magnaflow.
