What causes the rear brakes to wear out faster than fronts?

I replaced EVERYTHING last summer and for some reason the rears were completely worn down past the pad material. they are evenly worn and teh ebrake is not sticking but I dont know what to look for to find the issue. The fronts have over 80% left!! This is on my 03 Yukon btw.

calipers were replaced last year and under warranty so i got a new set but on one side the pin was pretty much welded in place BUT both sides, both pads were ground down. The rears also had alot of brake dust the last few months but I thought it was due to the aggressive pads.

Besides aren't the e-brakes internal bands on the inside of the rotor hub on k-trucks?

Check the rubber brake hoses. If they are colasped they may be keeping pressure at calipers causing them to wear out as fast as you stated. I have seen this happen before.

so what does it need? i cant afford to put this back together with the same issue and burn up another set of rotors/pads.

Yeah I don think yoo does 2 min long brake stands with it to smoke just the rear brakes. They are working harder than the front for a reason. So a miss match in pressure makes the most sense or the calipers never release. I.e frozen.

    Left foot braker?

For some reason, GM made the rear brakes on the 99-04s 1/2 tons grab first... like way before the fronts. I don't know if it was an attempt to keep people from losing control or what. So if you're a light braker (coast with just enough pedal pressure to turn the brake lights on and scrub off a bit of speed) then you'll burn through rears a lot faster than fronts. If you're a typical Brookfield soccer Mom and wait until the last second to hit the binders then it's not an issue.

If you don't believe me, pull the ABS fuse and go drive around in some snow. The rears lock up super easy.
Buy made in the United States. Otherwise your job might be next. Unless you already wear black shoes and a visor with golden arches on it to work in which case your fellow american has already failed you.

i would guess a caliper issue before a proportioning valve issue myself and the other fact that aftermarket pads are shit period

Most of it has to do with rust build up not letting pads move off the motors. I clean off all rust and lube under the little ships on brackets. And on the whims before the pads go on.

And if you did not lube the calipers that can be part of the .problem.
Ps to fix this problem to went back to drum brakes on the rear again
