    Where to get 1911

Well I went to cabelas/gander mountain the other day, b/c my 21st is in a week and I've been wanting a SA 1911 Mil Spec for quite some time. When I was looking last year on Gun broker they were going for around 560-600 new, cabellas was asking 750. Gander mountain was asking the same and gun broker was no different. I'd prefer new over used tbh but if used is really that much cheaper I might have to just go with that.

Any good local stores with decent prices? Looking for XDM .40 as well.

If you can buy one for 560 bucks, ya better snag it up, that is below dealer cost.

    That was last year.

I found some for 600+ but I can't believe the price jump. Is it b/c there is less being produced or something?

Also factor shipping and transfer $ into the online prices. We in WI get hosed on gun prices. I see people throughout the rest of the country on gun forums talking about getting way better prices than we do here from our local gun stores.

In most cases you get what you pay for. If you are looking for something you plan on holding onto for ever spend the extra cash and get a smith & wesson or a kimber. I know gander has a citadel and its basically a gussied up rock island. I had a rock island for a few months. I shot my buddies kimber and it was clear that it was a superior product.

As for the xdm.. its a good polymer pistol. My personal pick for my next polymer is going to be a s&w m&p. Do your shopping!!

WOW!!! I bought my Springfield Armory GI Spec 1911-A1 4 years ago for $380. I still have the price tag on the case. Yes, that was new.

Chicago is what you would get if Milwaukee had sex with it's sister. Said by a co-worker of mine arguing w/ somebody on how Milwaukee is better then Chicago.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

You're intitled to your opinion. The craftsmanship is very apparent in kimbers. The only 1911 that is remotely close is s&w.

Side note para ordance makes a really nice 1911. You get a lot for your money with them.

Not my opinion read around. I was looking at kimbers and wanted to see if they are actually worth all the money. There's a lot about the quality going down hill since 2000

Lots of manufacturers have had a nasty slide in quality for more than a few years. Even more so as more and more companies are bought up by new companies with an eye on the "bottom line".
