    its the first rough casting of an all aluminum 409 block. Hasn't been machined yet obviously. This guy has enough room to stroke it to 565 inch.

    Good question. Looks like alloy block will be under $5k. The iron version will be under $3k. The iron version of this block will be safe out to 4.625" bore and can swing a 4.25" crank easily will room up to 4.75" (with some massaging). The guy making them has been doing R&D on these for years and they incorporate key features and girth in all the right places that will make the W-motor a great alternative to your standard BBC. Pretty exciting for the hobby actually. World introduced their alloy W-motor a few months ago which is a nice piece also but I think these BWR blocks will be even more stout. AND you can get an iron verion. World (at this time) is not offering an iron version

    umm don't assume. The block is big. Finished boring will have them at 4.5" with room to go to 4.625"

    this first all aluminum block pictured is going into a 61 Impala race car. An iron version is being put together with a single turbo!
