Help, need some ideas. car keeps stalling when I come to stop or slow down abruptly..

For whatever reason, since it got warm out the last day or so the car has been stumbling and had a rough idle when I come to a stop. Today for whatever reason the damm thing would stall when I would come to a stop light or slow down to make a sharp turn. This was going on with/without the a/c btw. Any ideas? plugs looked fine, air filter and maf were clean.

it will idle in neutral but the idle is sometimes all over the place. the problem almost always happens when slowing down or coming to a stop and I take it out of gear.

no cel lights at all, there is no egr system and the symptoms only occur when its warmed up.

Weird. I'm having the same issue.

I had an earlier thread where I was running lean. Took it to Marv and he cleared that up, pumped up output a bit and it runs great once the RPM are above 1200 or so. I haven't stalled completely, but when I first depress the clutch, RPM will drop to below 500. If I sit for a while it'll bounce back up to around 750 (where it should be) but it'll waiver a bit.

My plugs, air filter and MAF are clean as a whistle as well. Marv sent me a slightly modified version of the tune. Hopefully I can try it out tonight before ball. If it works I'll find out what he did.

i was having a similar issue in my stang and found out then when cleaning the engine bay the day before I had knocked the sensor plug off the MAF sensor and didnt even realize it. Car would spit and sputter and stall when stopped.

If that happens on my car it won't even start. I know this. After replacing the intake tube I forgot to reconnect it once.

Did you take it out to clean it? The IAC sounded like the problem.

    how did you clean it?

When I had my srt4 the iac would disconnect and cause all sorts of idle and a/f problems. If you used a harsh chemical maybe it damaged it?
