this is a PERFECT argument for CC though....

for OC, ANYONE can do it as long as they fit the law as to WHERE they are allowed to carry.

with CC, you'd actually have to be mentally stable enough to pass the class

Anyone can take a CC class. Its just weather or not the person is interested in doing things the right way, Follow gun Safety. Although Thugs probably wont ever enroll in a cc class even if it passes.

I'm sure there are plenty of 'mentally unstable' that can pass the class. How many mentally unstable people do you think you've stood in line next to at the grocery store and may not have even known it? And as soon as it's questioned... people will scream discrimination.

This guy isn't as dumb as the judge that let him out on bail. Kills one, wounds another and he is not a risk to society? Saw on the news tonight that they had to modify his conditions of bail. The first time the judge forgot to tell him that he could no longer possess weapons.

A good friend of mine has met and talked with this guy multiple times before this incident, he is no tool. He knows the law and it was his feeling that if this guy shot them there was a damn good reason. I do admit he would not be my poster child for carry of any kind though.

Bruce, interesting spin... Your headline could just have easily have read "man
killed in shooting has history of conviction of battery" So does his co-
conspirator. Shooter has no criminal history. You should be ashamed of
    yourself.

Nice spin Bruce. Danny John and his co-conspirator Jered Corn were kicked
out of a bar for being drunk and out of control. They both have criminal
convictions for battery in their past. But yet you spin the whole story
against a law-abiding citizen with NO criminal record who had the
unfortunate circumstance of coming across these 2 marauders trying to
move his car into his driveway, was assaulted, and called 911 to report the
incident... OH.. but lets talk about how Danny John the alcoholic batterer
was a good guy and the law-abiding citizen is in the wrong.. Shame on you
    Bruce.

Looks like there are mitigating circumstance, if he and show he feared for this like it gets booked as 3rd deg justifiable manslaughter

Did the blotter\ICR make it to public record yet?

Mitigating circumstance based on a comment to an article? I'm am guessing the officers/detectives talked to people in the bar they were in too, and are aware whatever records they people that were shot may or may not have had. Their past doesn't matter, its what happened between the shooter and the guys that were shot, not that they may have been an ahole every previous day of his life.

WTF is 3rd deg justifiable manslaughter?

Typing to fast before leaving on vacation.

    I meant...

If he can prove that he Feared For his Life, this would get booked as Justifiable manslaughter, not 3rd/2nd degree manslaughter.

Past does matter in a court case, For instance, you get a speeding ticket, but its your first one, you have a better chance with the DA then if its your 19th.
