Thread: Jeff's 67 GTO

  1. #21
Some update pics. Going to start it up tomorrow, I don't think Jeff is going to get any sleep tonight.

Jeff's wife requested that the exhaust not be to loud, so Jeff requested that I install a dual 3 inch exhaust system.

Very nice. I am sure the video does not do the audio justice.

Thanks all for the kind words!

I rebuilt/restored the carbs myself so it was a big relief when the motor fired right up Even with no choke.

Should be back on the road in a couple weeks. Tom's been doing a great job and it keeps getting better every day. Still have to bleed the brakes, put the front end and hood back on, figure out the spring setup for the suspension, finish tuning the motor, and debug everything. It's basically a new car mechanically.

    Some more updates pics.

Bottom of hood needed to be cleaned up.

New valve covers needed breather holes and a little bit of sanding and polishing.

    Installed.

Valvetrain pic since I had the valve covers off.

Do you have any older pictures of this car? I am 99% sure I am a previous owner of the GTO and have been trying to track it down for a couple years now. Please let me know!

I don't have any old pictures where the car looks significantly different than it does now but there are several reasons why it would be extremely unlikely that you are a previous owner. When and where do you think you may have owned it?

  14. #34
If it is the car, I would have sold it sometime in the late summer of 2005 to a man at the Jefferson car show/ swap meet.

  15. #35
I've owned the car longer than that, and did not buy it in WI.
