`02 - 2.2L differences.....

I have a SFI 2.2L (non-Ecotec) from a `02 Cavalier and need to determine the version or what the VIN's 8th digit was. The car was scrapped many years ago and I no longer have the VIN.....

These are the 4 versions offered:

2.2L, VIN 4 (8th digit), gasoline
2.2L, VIN 4 (8th digit), CNG (opt KL6)
2.2L, VIN F (8th digit), EGR port in head
2.2L, VIN F (8th digit), w/o EGR port in head


Any help is much appreciated.....

Well you could probably rule out the CNG if there's no metering device for the gas, and you probably remember if it was CNG.

Get the casting #'s.

It's the VIN 4, the VIN F is the ecotech. And as was mentioned, you would have noticed if it was CNG, because there would have been a big crappy canister in the trunk, and four more injectors on the engine.
