So any how, I was helping out a buddy with his 93 Accord LX and he needed a new distributor seal.
The car was running fine before we did the work, but after we finished it started running really rough.. nothing was knock out of place or anything like that..
I'm just looking for ideas out there what it might be, its been 10 years since I worked on one...

did you makk the rotor to the dist base and the base to the block making sure the timing is correct. then recheck it.
and did you remove the plug wires if so check that for the issue a wire that is coming apart and such

I did all of thee above. Timing is fine... I even checked the plugs, but when they were pulled out they were covered in oil... I'm starting to think of a head gasket leak, i'll try to do a compression test tomorrow.

it would be odd for a headgasket to leak oil internal.
did you have to remove the air intake tube,poss. lnock off any vac lines or not plug something back in by the air box

You had to remove a few of the vac lines when you did the work, any vac leak on those early 90's Hondas makes the car go into a fit. I just got thru spraying a 95 down with brake clean while running, we had it running 100% better by repairing all the vac leaks...just a thought.

Also make sure that the dist. cover gasket didn't get pinched somewhere. That happened to mine and i had condensation build up.
