is there half inch recessed hole in it if so use a half inch ratchet put the ratchet end in the recessed hole and push on the handle of the ratchet

Heres a pic...Unsure if i have to untighten the large bolt at the tensioner or not?<a href="http://s258.photobucket.com/albums/h...urrent=alt.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...edower/alt.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
put a socket on that lower pulley nut with the rachet turn left to lift up on the tensioner. Should lift really easily.

I got it ! Thanks for the info ! Appreciate it !! Looks like its the original motorcraft stamped alternator too! Sucks to replace it !
Most rebuilts are Motorcraft stamped cases.
Alternators are easy as sin to swap out. I did one in my F-150 which is the same, in a pissed off customers parking lot in the dead of December. 25 minutes tops.
Just remember to have a fully charged battery when you swap out the Alt so you don't burn out the voltage regulator on start up.
kool..will do..thanks greg
