The camaro was the porker of the group at 3100#

While the 'stang was the sveltest of the group at 2550#

There is no way a 83 mustang weighs 2550.

Must be a typo, or that Fox lost 500 pounds somewhere.
    Edit:
That article also claims that the Mustang weights 159.1 kg, must of been a rare breed, 350 pounds.

Someone definitely got the numbers wrong.

lol, I think they forgot a 1 for the kg rating.

    159.1 kg (2550.0 lb)

I remember weights on the sticker inside the door jam were lighter than normal, maybe a shipping weight or something like that.

Yeah. Even with a full tank of gas and a 200lb driver this thing shouldn't be as heavy as Tom's specs showed. It's a smaller car than a Camaro, and it doesn't have that oh-so-sophisticated dead weight wheel hopping IRS trying to make it sink to the core of the planet. Ford went all out to make sure that the incoming Coyote 4V engine weighed no more than the outgoing 3V 4.6. The only real appreciable weight gain, near as I can tell, are the new transmissions. They probably account for the weight discrepancy between the '10 and the '11 model years.

Motor trend has done a dyno session as well with both the GT and v6 stangs.

Their dyno (K&N's shop dyno) was a little less optimistic and returned 365hp in 3rd gear, 377hp in 4th. (still impressive, don't get me wrong---and still suggesting that it's either underrated or perhaps still a little optimistic)

    The V6 returned 267hp in 4th gear.

Inside Line may have also gone ahead and used 5th gear as opposed to MT which used 3rd and 4th. I disagree with MT's assessment that with the rear gearing (3.31:1) that 5th would have been too steep for a dyno pull. Also, there is an optional final drive for this car (3.73:1) and they may have had this and made a 5th gear pull. I'm not saying this is what they did, but it may account for the discrepancy.

Yea FWIW the car should have been dyno'd in 5th..

The whole point is the dyno that car in a 1:1 ratio to try to minimize the drive-train loss.

Doesn't really matter though you are splitting hairs I would say it safe to say they dyno around 380 and will weight just over 3600. Pretty impressive.

P.S. There is nothing wrong with an IRS if you plan to use the car to turn. Also you have to actually make a decent one unlike the one in the 03 cobra.

Thats pretty cool! Thats faster than 03-04 cobras' ran stock! Finally, a bone stock ford motor that doesnt need FI to be respectable.

Watch the V6 vid, check out the wheel hop though, its worse than my IRS turd! Not nearly as bad from the V8 car, but its there.

Im aching to come across one of these on the street yet for a little touch em up session... But what a much improved car over the 05-09's is! I first just noticed the new changes in the interior now, much more GM-like ford stuff is getting interior wise, thats good!
