    New Toy

Well ever since I met Chris and Scott at Fletchers I wanted to pick up a .22lr so I could maybe do some more target shooting. Last Thursday night I went to Fletchers and my attent was to pick up a Sig Saur P220. Well they didnt have any at the shop. They Gave me a P229 to finger and I liked it but the difference between the P220 and P229 I would only be able to get a .45 conversion kit. The P229 can also do a 9mm and a 40 s w. I saw the price tag and it said it was used. After looking at it the gun look like bran new and was $487 when all said in done almost $100 Cheaper then the Sig P220 that I was thinking about getting.

Here is a picture of the 229

Here is the P229 with its brother SP2022

I also went to farm and fleet and pick up 1050 rounds of .22 for $37 way nicer to spend almost $40 and get that many rounds then getting a 100 rounds for that price of 9mm

Had a great experiance with Sean from Fletchers. I just now cannot wait to get a conversion kit for the .40 S W.

Winchester White Box from Walmart is only 20 bucks for a box of 100 .22 is way cheaper, thats for sure. Why didn't you get a bull barrel .22 for target shooting?

Cause I like the Idea of being able to change the compents to be able to use a different caliber.

That's awesome Scott! Glad you found that one for sure!

I wish Beka could have consistently held a full frame like the P220/229 so she could move up in caliber easier, but the Mosquito will have to do.

Either way, that CCI .22LR hasn't jammed up once in it, so don't listen to all those online reviews.

1050 rounds? Did you buy the 525 federal bulk packs or something? If that's what it was, that walmarts sometimes have that for $11.47 / box, so keep a look out on it

Yeah I tried the Mosuito and thought about it till I held it. Way to small for me to hold comfortably. I would of had overlap my hands a lot and it didnt feel comfortable to me.

I got Reminton .22LR 525 Rounds a box for $17.99 at the farm and fleet in Waukesha and they had a ton of it.

awesome. those "golden bullets" or whatever they are called? I'll have to check there to pick some more ammo up.

I hear what you are saying on the small size. I don't shoot it because of that, haha.

so the P229 you can do ANY conversion on? 9, 40, and 45? or just 9/40?

Acording to Sig Sauers website you can do 9mm, 357, and 40. although a friend of mine things that you have to do more other changes other then the Magazine and slide in order to do the 357. I took his word for it because he owns one.
