People confuse large calibers as being flatter shooting, not realy.
Larger calibers like lofting a softball will be easier to dunk, less apt to drift in wind. Take a good look at bullet drop at 300/400yrds with all calibers zeroed in at 200yrds. 223,308,30-06,338,50cal...look at all of them at 500yrds with a 200yrd zero and watch the drop.
Flattest shooting, least likely to drift at 1000 yrds will always be 6 and 6.5mm class bullets, not 1/2" bore armor piercing car killers.
