    2004 trailblazer 4wd ?

    went to put the truck in 4wd this morning ,and a red n popped up on the switch dial,anyone know what the red n means? thanks

    did you forget perhaps to put it in neutral first? on mine you have to be in neutral when you switch from awd or 2wd to 4hi or 4lo.

    its my daughters truck,so that is a good possibility

    I have an 03 Envoy. It's changable on the fly between 2hi, awd and 4hi. To get into 4lo you need to be in neutral with the brakes on. It's possible she tried to put it in 4lo and it freaked out. I've never seen the red light though.

    The red N stands for Neutral IIRC
