That'll be easy for the plow driver to spot.

My box is bolted to the house, so it's safe, , , I hope.

you live too close to the city yet. Those cool mailboxes only work in the country areas. Too many punks to risk it.

Kelly, that show is so stupid its funny. I love pointless reality television, so this fits the bill. Picture Real World meets every show that airs on VH1 with a guido twist.

Badass defensive or paranoid, it's only a matter of time.. I give it 3 months till the the F$#*ing (kids, plow, garbage, wife, neighbor, etc) ruined my mail box thread.

Cement post, cement base, cement everything.. If they screw it up, make sure it screws them up.

My granfather took huge pieces of rebar (sp?) and drove two pieces into the ground and formed a X in front of his mailbox. He got pissed off at people driving through his ditch for fun and creaming his mailbox. They tried it several nights later but didnt get away cause that rebar X got caught up in their undercarriage and had to be towed off with a wrecker

I am making the post at work, 1/4 thick by 4 x 4 and 72 inches long, will be buried 3 feet into the ground and I will be pouring concrete. I'm not worried about vandalism, if it happens then I repaint my mailbox. Thats what insurance is for.

The color makes it look orange, its actually a very red RED and 2 diff. shades of blue

I would check your local laws or codes about what your able to make it out of. I've heard this can be illegal because the post is to be able to breakaway for safety reasons. Also the homeowner can be held liable for the damage to the vehicle if it is not made to breakaway. I don't know that it is a fact, but I would check it out first to be on the safe side. May vary from city to city.
