    WTB .40 Hang Gun

Researching a .40 cal hang gun for home protection and a range weapon to play with. Saw a Springfield Armory XDM online and know nothing about it. Anyone got any feedback on that handgun or another suggestion to look at?

    Budget $550ish

the fun thing was I havent mentioned to the wifey at all so today while at gurnee mills we stopped in outdoor place and made our way over to the gun area. I never ever go over there so she was surprised. I was looking generally at handguns and she said something that caught me off guard...... "if you got a handgun do you think we could take them to the range?"

HUH??? What did I just hear?

Yup. she said in the navy she liked firing the weapons off the fantail and wanted a handgun but never said cause I didnt seem interested. So, if this weeks interviews go well maybe her christmad present will be a nice 9mm

I have quiet a few in that price range. If you want to come and see them, drop me a PM. Even if you don't buy from me, you can at least get a good up close and personal feel for the guns without the sales pitch you would get at a store, lol.

There is about a $100 difference between the XD and the XDM, the quote I gave you was for XDM's figure about $100 less for the XD's

    Whats the difference between them?

I thought they were the same, this is the one thats for sale at Cabelas:

Called Cabela's, the XDM is on sale till the end of today for 579, the XD was the one for 529 and that ended last week. Said the only difference between the XD and the XDM is the trigger pull is smoother and the m has interchangeable straps, not worth the extra money in HIS opinion.

If you don't plan on spending more than a few days a year at the range with it, don't waste your time or ammo. Get a nice Mossberg 500 in 12ga. with 20" barrel and pistol grip. You don't have to worry about aiming. This is my home defense weapon...
