I haven't disagreed with much that Doug Melvin has done but I have to question this one. The guy made every start (34), had 14 wins, and did it all with a sore knee. He gave up a lot of taters but he pitched a shit ton of innings too.

The dude had a 5.22 ERA and let up 39 HR's, he's defiantly replaceable. Hopefully this means better pitching is on the way

yeah. i thought he would stick around for next season. i think that with all the dingers he gave up, they should have been able to get him cheap?!?!

He was terrible....thank god they declined it, I was scared it would be picked up. Wins mean nothing for a pitcher and for what he was set to make again, they can use that for someone with actual upside.
I will agree that his knee might of had a negative effect on him so he can surely be better, but he has never been more than a #4 type starter, the Brewers need all the money they have to find a more talented guy.86' MCSS - 13.35 @103

If they would have picked up his option he would have gotten paid 6.5 mil next year, not worth it with those stats.
