Cameron will be gone, along with his $10m salary to free up cash for a pitcher... good & bad I guess.

By replacing Hardy and Cameron with Gomez and Escobar we are clearing up almost 14 mil, hopefully this means starting pitching is on the way.

Nice to see the Brewers already being very active. That should give fans a nice feeling knowing they do want to win now.

Suppan and his 12.5 mil salary will be back next year, and if it were up to me it'd only be bullpen mop-up sessions all year

The Brewers = Wisconsin BEST sports franchise. At least they try to get good player and make deals.

Gomez better learn how to get on base though, a .230 average won't cut it as an everyday player....and don't mention Kendall . His D is great though.

Cameron only hit like .250. So it's not like he set the world on fire for the money he was making. Dude seemed to strike out everytime I turned on the game. I like the speed on the bases and base stealing that Gomez offers.

Gomez had an OBP of .292, Cameron was .342...much more important than AVG especially if they want him as a lead off guy. I won't miss Cam's strikeouts either though. I'd have to double check but I also think Gomez was caught stealing as much as he had stolen bases....a pretty bad recipe.

    x2.

If they can rein him back in and make him patient, he's got a chance. Also, some of the more predominant base stealers get caught about half as many times as they get lucky. 66% success ratio is acceptable. He was closer to 75% the year before. They can't all be Rickey Henderson, lol. He's young so he can still be coached. He struck out half as much as Cameron in only 12 fewer games so that's an instant upgrade.

I'd rather have a strickout than hit into a double play, though.

The bad part is when they interviewed JJ he was not suprised that he was traded...it was the fact that he was traded for an outfielder rather than a pitcher that suprised him. Apparently there isn't much pitching up for sale on the auction block yet.

Cameron has proven to be ALOT more valuable than Gomez in his career so far, or the last two years when both have been in the majors....this isn't even debatable. The question is can Gomez improve enough on offense to justify being an everyday player. His numbers so far are not even good enough for anything more than a defensive replacement or pinch runner.

I'd be all for keeping Cameron, letting he or Gomez play right, and sending Hart packing. Or just easing Gomez in and letting a guy like Cattalanato go and he can be your backup OF player.
