    my mid size family sedan!

it doesnt run yet so its slow. Fully built 2.4l that used to be a sohc now a dohc, automatic to manual swap with a turbo to help it out. was going to be a sleeper idea but my fmic mounting ruined that plan. engine car (has some turbo ls1 mustang in her)

Its actually really really nice he is the second owner and has had it from 1991 never seen a winter in its life and he has only put 12k on it since he bought it. I know how much its worth but he wants to sell it to a collector so that its still taken care of.

Complete update on this car haha its been a really long build i KNOW but we are working hard to get it done i ran into a CRAP load of wiring problems with the 2g eclipse stuff, swapped over to a 2g harness have a few minor things to wire up and i am really hoping that it starts very soon. We where actually trying to get it started all last week but with all the loose ends on wiring and being one of the only cars in the us running this setup its really hard to figure out whats what and what goes where but here is a update im hoping a startup video may follow this shortly.

So my engine is fairly high compression for a turbo'd car after some though this past winter and already having my fuel setup done i decided to go with meth injection over E85, E85 is really nice and is more bullet proof then going with the meth injection system but where im located there are 0 gas stations close that sell it so my mind was made up. Also got coil overs for the car so i can possibly track my 4dr some and just have fun all around with it.

Decided that i wanted to run a better turbo also, for the hp numbers that i am shooting for the precision sc60 was a good fit and should spool up fairly quick with the built high compression 2.4l

went with the hks evc5 boost controller since they hold boost well and ive only read good things about them i also liked how they came with a vacuum block so there was no need for a after market one. This is how i mounted it in the car came out "ok" i would like to try the clock removal again sometime soon if i can find another one.

Removed all the auto trans wires, and all my ac shit that im not going to use, plus the maf since speed density is where its at, turns out that was a bad idea WHOOPS.

cold piping got done worked out ok, had to space the turbo out was a little lager then we thought and liked sitting on my motor mounts plus wouldnt let me put the water pipe in :/

Here is the meth injection setup and yes the tank is mounted to my sub box

Here is the car pretty much ready to go got everything all ready and was about to start it up

pushed her out of the garage to pull it in the other way needed to do the rear brakes and rear suspension so this is what she will look like when we get her on the road again

And now this is where we sit just trying to get the new harness put together and ready to start the car again, :/ its all torn apart need to change out a few connectors but im sure she will be ready to go soon, Mike (letsrunem) and I plus a few others have been working on this thing non stop just trying our hardest to get it going hoping its not to long anymore im getting antsy need to have her on the road again so i can fix the body and have it painted.

Cool build, if i would do 1 thing differant i would move the oil feed line going to the turbo. i don't like how it rests on the manifold. i did the same thing with my girlfriends 240sx. then realized the an line started to get "burnt" so i would re-route it instead of letting it sit on the manifold.

thanks, yea im going to try and get a shorter one with a 90 i hate how its ran but we did that just so we could start the engine.

looks pretty cool. It will be a very cool sleeper.

You are keeping it FWD right? I can't imagine there are too many provisions (if any) on a USDM Galant for AWD.

Going to go awd this winter, there is one USDM galant known to have been swapped over.

Ahh yea, our conversation at GLD is coming back to me now

Yea that is going to be one bad ass sleeper especially if you come through with the AWD.

Is the galant based on underpinnings as a 2g? The 4g63 looks very "correct" in there.

  20. #20
Yea the whole chassie design is the same on the 7g as on the 2g and the avengers. The awd swap is alot easier then this swap just need a gsx trans, transfercase, rear end and a custom made drive shaft that is 6"s longer. All i need to do is weld in the center drive shaft mount so it should be fairly simple. But i said that about the dohc swap too so who knows maybe it will be a pain in the ass like this was.
