    26.6

was my average MPG from West Bend to Oak Creek today. Hand calc and DIC always seem to be within a tenth. My first good freeway run since being fully synthetic in the engine, trans, front/rear ends and t-case.

Cruise was on 5 over the whole way so about 50% at 60mph and 50% at 70mph. A/C blasting the whole way. Bone stock too no additives!

Maybe it was Chad's secret deezel blend at his Shell station?!?

If I dumped the DPF that screws me out of 2 gallons of fuel every tank and got a tuner with a economy tune in it, could probably crack 30. But GM was kind enough to install a "big brother" into the ECM of these new LMM trucks that keeps track of the last 10 flashes...

I'm not ready to give up my 100k warranty just yet,

  6. #6
yeah no need to lose your warranty. just remember with a tuner your dic will be off for gas mileage. miles driven is fine but the mpg is off by about 2. thats what mine is off with my ppe. i still am getting 18-20 mixed and 24+ on solid freeway trips. i just filled up at that shell yesterday so well see what my mileage is with the special mix. lol

Hand Calculated I've never hit more than 20.5. Then again I never drive that slow and most of my road trips are at 75-80mph.

Stock with a 85HP Predator tune, I never hammer it so I figure its safe and best for economy.

I want to do an exhaust and do a road trip at lower speeds just to see what's possible. I just don't think I have the patience. The trip to the in-laws is 10 hours and I just try to make it go as quick as possible. Plus its 75mph all the way through MI.

thats crazy. atleast they have that lmm figured out. when i had a 08 ford 6.4 CC SB plow truck that thing got 6mpg with a 8' plow on the front if they would go back to a lock out style front end on ford or dodge the fuel mileage would greatly increase

Yeah, if only they would have left well enough alone and let diesels breathe (DPF)

my 98' 2500 gasser got 13.5mpg going up north hauling about 2500-3000 lbs of stone in the bed. pig slow and lots of gas, but that's money I didn't spend on a diesel truck. some day maybe

Yeah I think I read that it takes about 75-80K miles to make up the difference in the additional cost of the diesel engine versus the fuel savings. Seems about right by a quick calculation.

Guessing thats a small block? that's decent. 454 or 496 bic blocks would have been about 8mpg. lol my brothers 8.1 got like 11 in the city with nothing in/on it. truck had hella nuts though. lol

last time the burban was on the street it was getting like 5-7 mpg lol
